A series of mimeographed sketches on Michigan forts prepared by B. Frank Emery, including essays on Fort St. Joseph, 1686-1781, the only place in Michigan where the Spanish flag floated over a fortification; Fort Holmes on Mackinac Island, erected in 1812; Fort Drummond (Fort Collyer), the last British stronghold in Michigan, 1815-1828; the post cemetery of Fort Collyer on Drummond Island; Fort Wilkins, a frontier stockaded post built to protect Michigan's first copper mines, 1844-1846; Fort Saginaw, a forgotten frontier post, 1822-1823; and Fort Michilimackinac, the scene of the Pontiac massacre, abandoned in 1781.
